I truly believe music is something everyone should experience, whether you're learning for fun, working towards exams, or simply looking to enjoy playing."

Hey, I’m Arron.
I’m a professional drummer with over 20 years of experience as both an international touring artist and a studio session player. I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of artists, including UK number 1 chart act Bou, A.M.C (five-time winner of Best DJ at the Drum&BassArena Awards), and Neuroheadz (Best Newcomer Label, Drum&BassArena Awards), among many others.
Drumming is my life’s greatest passion, and I strongly believe in its physical and mental benefits.
My lessons are fully tailored to each student—whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced player looking to refine your technique. I focus on building strong core principles that will help you develop the skills needed to perform at a professional level.
Let’s hit some drums.
My name is Alex, and I’m passionate about music. I love learning new instruments and will happily explore anything I can get my hands on. While jazz is my main passion, I also have a deep appreciation for classical music—the discipline and sight-reading skills it develops are invaluable and help shape highly versatile musicians.
I play a wide range of instruments, with a particular focus on woodwind, including saxophone (baritone, tenor, alto, and soprano), clarinet, and flute, as well as double bass. This makes me especially well-suited to teaching woodwind players. I’m also proficient in piano, guitar, and banjo—and in truth, I enjoy any plucked string instrument. I have a strong interest in collecting instruments from around the world and take great satisfaction in repairing and restoring them.
I’ve been fortunate to learn from excellent woodwind teachers and to receive strong musical support throughout my upbringing. In turn, I now enjoy supporting and instructing younger students, helping them develop their skills while nurturing a genuine love for music.
I hold a diploma in alto saxophone performance and play to a high standard, which earned me a place in the National Youth Jazz Collective last summer. I also perform regularly in a variety of jazz combos and classical ensembles.
My goal is simple: to share my love of music with anyone who wants to learn, regardless of level. I can guide students through graded exams when appropriate, but above all, I believe music should be enjoyable. Developing a lasting love for playing is far more valuable than any certificate.
Hi, I’m Chris. I’m 36 years old and have been playing drums since the age of 10. I completed Guildhall Grades 1–8 during school and went on to study at The ICMP in London, graduating with a 2:2 BA (Hons) in Popular Music Performance.
I’ve been teaching at Bournemouth School of Music since 2020, alongside performing regularly with a wide variety of bands. I’m comfortable playing and teaching across many styles, and bring plenty of live experience into my lessons. In addition to drums, I’m a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass, keys, and a bit of saxophone, as well as more recently exploring hang drum/handpan.
Me as a teacher
In my own training, I often found traditional music education focused too narrowly on the instrument in isolation. Because of that, I take a more holistic approach in my teaching. While technique and instrumental ability are essential, I also place strong emphasis on understanding the drummer’s role within music as a whole.
My aim is not just to develop solid players, but to foster a genuine enthusiasm for music—helping students grow both technically and musically. I’m a big fan of the Rockschool material for this reason, though I’m by no means tied to it and am always happy to work with alternative syllabi or tailor lessons to individual goals.

I am an eager and enthusiastic drummer with a passion for rhythm and am very keen on teaching new starters. As a 17 year old, I offer a modern angle which may appeal to younger drummers. I am a huge fan of rock music, and I am heavily influenced by artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Nirvana and Green Day. I would love to help young drummers discover their potential on the kit, and find their passion in music.
I started playing the piano at the age of seven. My first instrument was a small battery-powered wooden keyboard. Even without lessons, I used to play any melody that came into my mind. It felt like a miracle and remains one of the most wonderful things that has ever happened to me.
In 1980, I played with a band for the first time. Since then, I have performed in many musical styles, including pop, rock, jazz, and Mediterranean music.
Some of the most important groups I have performed with include:
- Nadro-John (1982–1985) – jazz and Mediterranean music
- Mini Orchestra, Germany (1998–2003) – classical music
- Zorbas Band (2018–2021) – Greek and English music
Since 2000, I have composed a great deal of music. I have recorded some of my compositions and written many others. Over the years, I have also developed strong experience in recording, mixing, and mastering albums.
Because of this work, I have received invitations from around the world to perform and present my own music.
I am a passionate music teacher, specialising in piano, while also teaching keyboard and drums. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing my students progress. Their dedication and development bring me great happiness.
I am very patient, highly driven, and self-motivated, with more than 45 years of experience in piano and other instruments. I am deeply enthusiastic about music of all kinds.
My studies include:
- Music theory at Valletta Music School
- Studies at Wurzburg Music College
- Diploma in Education from Southampton City College
I am proud to teach in the UK, and especially pleased to be teaching now with Bournemouth School for Music.
I have experience teaching students of different ages and use creative, innovative methods to help each student learn and grow.

I am a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter who specialises in piano and guitar. I have been playing piano since I was 7 and guitar from the age of 12. I love all kinds of music including Rock, Pop, Classical and Jazz.
In 2014, I was awarded a Music Scholarship to study at Downside School in Somerset where I went on to gain ABRSM Grade 7 (Classical) Piano and an A-level in Music. I also frequently took part in performances and recitals playing piano, guitar and bass. Since then I have continued to study under accomplished tutors - taking up drumming and developing my vocal technique with an Opera singer - whilst writing and recording my own music with Logic Pro.
I believe the most important thing when learning is to enjoy yourself. Part of this means setting realistic goals and making sure you have an idea of where you want to end up as a musician. Usually, I would recommend going through ABRSM or Rockschool grades as they provide a great structure for your learning journey but I am open to other syllabuses or if you just want to learn for fun. I also emphasize the importance of ear training and value the resources YouTube and streaming services provide for this.
Ultimately, I would like to share my passion for Music with students and help them to achieve their goals. Music is a powerful language and you really can express a lot about your identity through your tastes, the way you perform and in the works you compose.
